Electronics & Photonics Laboratory

The Electronics & Photonics Laboratory (PhotonXLab) is a research facility in the Department of Physics, School of Science, University of Thessaly (Lamia, Greece), founded in 2019. The laboratory aims to:

• Promote basic and applied research in the fields of photonics and lasers
• Support teaching in the Dept. of Physics in both theoretical and experimental aspects in the areas of laser physics, photonics and electronics/telecommunications.

Our main research interests are currently focused on pulsed lasers & applications and photonic sensing with special emphasis on interferometric techniques on the installed fiber infrastructure for environmental sensing (earthquakes, etc.). In addition, we investigate applications of Fiber Bragg Gratings sensors in several fields (constructions, biomedical applications etc.)
